Role brief

aimlroles summary, based on the employer's posting.

What you'll do

  • Build local AI agents that handle engineering work across implementation, tests, code review and CI/CD
  • Create tracing, evaluation checks and safety controls to assess agent behavior before release
  • Roll out AI automation across teams with documentation, onboarding and feedback, then track adoption
  • Develop the internal developer platform with catalogs, self-service flows, templates and engineering scorecards
  • Track DORA measures, agent quality and platform reliability, and help teams put useful automation into production

What you bring

  • At least five years in software, platform engineering or DevOps, including a year building AI agents for real workflows
  • Practical experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Helm and CI/CD
  • You have built autonomous agents connected to engineering workflows, beyond code-completion assistance
  • You can develop agent context and MCP servers, plus evaluation checks that define when people must approve changes
  • You have rolled out shared self-service tools or practices across teams and can turn user needs into workable automation

Who this fits

This mid-level role suits an engineer who can build and operationalize AI agents while helping teams adopt shared platform capabilities. The position is remote in Ukraine.

From the employer

  • AI Platform Engineer

About us:

BetterMe — an all-in-one well-being ecosystem empowering millions to become better — physically, mentally, and emotionally. We build what makes people better and keep challenging ourselves to inspire others.

About the role:

We are scaling and our specialists are leveling up. Now we're looking for an AI Engineer to build AI agents and solutions that transform engineering workflows.

Your impact:

  • Build local and autonomous AI agents that automate engineering tasks across the SDLC, including implementation, testing, code review, and CI/CD.
  • Build quality and safety mechanisms for AI agents, including tracing, evaluation suites, quality signals, and guardrails to ensure reliable behavior before production.
  • Scale AI automation and platform capabilities across teams through documentation, onboarding, feedback, and measurable adoption.
  • Measure impact using DORA metrics, platform adoption, agent quality, and operational reliability.
  • Build and evolve our Internal Developer Platform (IDP) using Backstage, Port, or comparable tools, including service catalogs, self-service workflows, software templates, and engineering scorecards.
  • Enable AI agents to interact with platform capabilities through structured metadata, documented interfaces, and agent-consumable tooling.
  • Help technical and non-technical teams identify AI automation opportunities and implement reliable solutions in production.

About you:

  • 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, or DevOps, including 1+ year of hands-on experience building AI agents for real-world workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, and CI/CD.
  • Experience building local and autonomous AI agents integrated into CI/CD or SDLC workflows, beyond Copilot-style assistance.
  • Practical experience with Context Engineering, including agent skills, rules, internal knowledge sources, and custom MCP server development.
  • Experience building agent evaluation suites and quality gates, with clear criteria for when agent-generated changes can be trusted to merge and when human approval is required.
  • A platform-as-a-product mindset, with experience building self-service capabilities and rolling out shared tools or practices across multiple teams.
  • Ability to translate technical and non-technical users’ needs into practical automation solutions.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience with Internal Developer Platforms such as Backstage, Port, or comparable solutions.
  • Experience with observability, SRE practices, and production incident response.
  • Experience with GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with AI agent execution runtimes such as Amazon Bedrock AgentCore, Agent Substrate, or equivalent solutions.
