Short Description
As an AI Solutions Engineer, you will play a key role in driving the digital transformation of our R&D organization. You will work closely with engineering, research, and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and AI adoption, develop innovative solutions, and implement scalable digital tools that enhance productivity and engineering excellence.
This role combines expertise in AI, software development, process digitalization, and engineering problem solving. The ideal candidate is passionate about technology, thrives in a hands-on environment, and enjoys transforming ideas into practical solutions with measurable business impact.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Takes technical ownership of projects and provides senior-level leadership and expertise in the development and implementation of AI and ML solutions
- Drives the operationalization of complex ML and AI models and acts as the central point of contact for operationalized models within Schaeffler
- Designs, develops, and implements AI-driven and digital solutions, including prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and production-ready applications, to improve R&D processes and workflows
- Develops intelligent assistants, AI agents, copilots, and automated workflows using Generative AI technologies
- Analyzes engineering and business processes to identify opportunities for digitalization, automation, and efficiency improvements
- Integrates AI services and digital applications into existing engineering and enterprise systems using APIs and connected data sources, while ensuring scalability, maintainability, security, and compliance
- Collaborates with engineers, project managers, domain experts, and business stakeholders to define high-value use cases, translate business needs into technical solutions, and provide guidance during implementation and deployment
- Evaluates emerging technologies in AI, Generative AI, automation, and digital engineering, and contributes to Schaeffler’s innovation culture by introducing and promoting modern digital capabilities
Your Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- Long term experience in software development, automation, or digital solution implementation
- Several years practical knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Generative AI technologies
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, C#, JavaScript, Java, or similar
- Experience with APIs, integration technologies, and modern software architectures as well as DevOps, and agile methodologies
- Understanding of cloud-based technologies and digital platforms
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Fluent English language skills
